Home Recording Tips
The home recording
section is categorized into two sections. Basic home recording and
advanced home recording. There are also some resources for those who are
planning to build their own home recording studio.
It is a great advantage
having everything ready and handy at all times. Inspiration does not make
an appointment. You must be ready to record when you are inspired and not
the other way around. We have all felt the frustration of getting all the
gear together and hooked up at the studio and then ... blaaaannnk .... nothing
comes out ..... it ends up being more of a rehearsal session than an inspiration
session.
On the other hand, how
many times have you been sitting around with a guitar and suddenly went into a
zone. Your fingers are just peeling off the licks and your ear is hearing
every cycle of sound. You can tell if a string is out of tune by even one
vibe. Yap ... been there many times .... only problem was that I wasn't
ready to record.
Now that I have
developed my "home recording den", I keep everything ready to
record. When I get in a zone, I walk in and flip on some switches and I
GOT IT !!!! If you think it sounds good while you are in the zone, you
should hear it after it is recorded. I listen to it as if it was someone
else. It sounds too difficult, too smooth, too professional to be
me. I don't even recognize it sometimes. It is very worthwhile
recording it because listening to it can bring you back to the 'zone'.
